He would probably be pulled out of class and be forced to skip ahead a few grades. A kid that age reading!!! Are you kidding me? From what I saw at BHS when I substitute taught there, half the kids who graduate these days can't read.
---and the other half could. And so it has been through all time. There have always been those who were(are) thinkers, learners and philosophers and those who are not. Part of the difference now is that we attempt in our public school system to educate (to some degree) everyone. Those who can, care or are driven continue to learn and grow those who aren't, don't. At least more have the chance at the process. Alice
1. He's not wearing a shirt. This is utterly unacceptable. Our "policy" forbids it. 2. He is looking streaked with dirt and bruises. Apparently, a victim of neglect and abuse. Start an investigation. Call the cops, the government, bring in the psychologist. But, get him out of class, interrogate him!

He's wearing baggy overalls and he has on no shirt. (He' also sitting still! Not cool!) Alice
No shirt--- which then leads to the scratches and bruises on him. Very curious...
