The bodies of five dophins washed up on a Southern California beach. Four had been shot to death. This is a federal crime, and fortunately, is highly unusual even in a culture that values guns. A reward of $2,500 has been offered. This sum will probably grow, and may help lead to an arrest. The crime probably happened several miles off shore, but Federal jurisdiction easily extends that far.
