Note to Mitt

Dear Romney:
I am told, sir, that someday you will want to run for President again. You're young, unnaturally rich, and powerfully ambitious. Why not?

But, sir, you have no chance whatever of winning my vote, now, if for no other reason than this: You said that candidates who want to end the war in Iraq want in fact to 'SURRENDER TO THE TERRORISTS.' You said this with a smug look as you threw those words at a hooting crowd of war makers.

I have heard this talk before. I heard it everyday during the Vietnam War. Anyone who wanted the war ended was often said to be treasonous and wanting to surrender to the communists. This thugish attitude toward questions of peace and war is unbecoming a person who aspires to lead a democracy.

In your much touted 'conservative religious beliefs,' I think you have forgotten: "Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called sons of God." You may call them cowards or traitors or surrenderers, but a higher power may think otherwise.

You go ahead and remain smug in your self-contained righteousness. When you call me a surrenderer, you're full of beans. You sir can remain a Saint, those 70% of us who want this war stopped are aspiring to be sons of God.
