Following recent die-offs of bees there are new reports of biological mayhem in another species of great importance to people. This time it is bats. Thousands of bats have died off from a disease being called "White Nose Syndrome" because one symptom of the disease is a white ring around the nose of the victims. The death of the bats affects agriculture because bats are ravenous consumers of destructive insects.
