Another possiblity for Wacko of the Week could have been the American taxpayer because:

"The war is costing $720 million a day or $500,000 a minute, according to the group's [American Friends Service Committee] analysis of the work of Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Harvard public finance lecturer Linda J. Bilmes.

The estimates made by the group, which opposes the conflict, include not only the immediate costs of war but also ongoing factors such as long-term health care for veterans, interest on debt and replacement of military hardware.

...and "private contactors"(wink, wink, wink) aka mercenaries, are getting the giant share of all those millions. AND--a whole lot of that money is unaccounted for(like double digit millions, can't be found. AND the owners' of these companies are pocketing as profit a tremendous share of those dollars. Congress is currently trying to investigate them for fraud among other things. We get sooooo bent out of shape about the impoverished person who might get an extra loaf of bread and turn our backs to the fact that the real thieves are the huge corporations, CEOs and the many of the politicos that are in bed with them. Two good books to read: allen Greenspan's book and "TheBattle for the Soul of Capitalism" by John Bogle. These are 2 highly reputable conservatives who are also concerned about the future of the American system. Alice
