High regards to the winners

So far we see that Appalachian State's football victory over Michigan has been called "shocking," "stunning" and "historic." We with Michigan loyalties are flattered to be considered so significant by others, although we always like to think of ourselves that way. Thanks, guys! We suspect some of you are just gloating, however, but that is also a compliment.

Meanwhile, despite our disappointment, congratulations to the Mountaineers! You are fine new friends.
Truly!

OK - time for a couple comments on the Wolverines.
Some of my Michigan friends think I take a vicarious pleasure in teasing them when problems arise in the Big House.
Of course I do !!!
But , that being said I never take pleasure in Michigan losing except to a MAC school of which my WMU Broncos are a member. But then I always am happy to see any MAC teams beat any Big Ten (eleven??) teams.
However, the Wolverines are generally the only division # 1 school in this state to consistantly compete with the other super powers in college football and I will be pulling for them the rest of the year, especially against the hated Buckeyes. ( I usually root for the underdog in the MSU game )
I firmly believe Bob Ufer and the Wolverines can claim great responsibility for the continuing popularity of college football in this state and you can see the effects of that every week in all Michigan colleges and Universities.
I made my decision to but my hi-def TV last year so I could watch tho OSU game on it.
Finally, I can still remember the thrill many years yore when my lifelong friend Bud escorted me and a couple other friends into the Big House for my first time.
The first sight of that magnificent
stadium interior as we emerged from the passageway is surpassed only by my first trip to Briggs Stadium to see my beloved Tigers.
Michigan has put the Michigan in college football year after year.
