Monday morning friends report.

Here is what friends and family are doing or saying or getting all hepped up about these days. It's best to keep an eye on most of these people because they're a wild bunch.
=====

BUD- Has taken full personal responsibility for the Michigan football loss to a little team. Everyone he knows has decided to poke at him about it. Not a single word of solace has been offered by anyone but Pat.

CHRISTOPHER S - called me up to tell me that Appalachian Sate gives degrees in Pool Hall Management. You need to understand that this is not a slap at Ap State, it's a slap at Michigan.

JERRY - This was part of a package of laughs he sent me:

======

IRISHMAN MIKE- has retired from his job. Congratulations on your escape from one of the unhappiest work places in the world. Congratulations also on your wonderful career!

MARSHA- her eye surgery was a fantastic success. An eye which had offended her has been tamed, and now she can see perfectly once more! We are all so pleased! What a wonderful world of medical magic we live in.

She is also celebrating the victory of South Carolina in its first game. We all cheer for S.C. a lot in this little universe of ours.

A COLLECTION OF GRINNING INTELLECTUALS:

("...everyone who needs to know who they are, does know who they are!")

FELIX - They've named a hurricane after him and now he's going around calling himself "Cat 5"

ALICE - reports that the Saginaw Area Democratic Club did a straw poll of its members and that John Edwards was the surprise winner.

She also sent a reference to the problem of "spreading deserts" which can be found HERE

DIG S. - sent some YouTube references for the South Carolina beauty who has done so much for the image of America the Stupid. If you want a laugh, click HERE and HERE. Thanks for the chuckles.

BILL FROM WNNCO - is thinking about proposed Bushian bailouts of people who lent and borrowed money foolishly during the Housing Boom of the last few years. As Bill says, "Someone will have to pay for this." Should it be you and me who did nothing wrong? When these people were engaging in this wild lending and borrowing, "What part of 'risk' didn't they understand?" Bill asks.

TRASE AND SCOT - and friends went to see the Michigan Wolverines soccer team defeat Rutgers, then to have pizza at the Original Cottage Inn in Ann Arbor. It was a "moving-in" weekend on campus, and the whole town is abuzz with youth and excitement.

The Michigan team is now 3-1 for the Fall season.

JERRY - sent this as part of a package of pictures called "Presidents in Drag." I think it's a charmer.

IRENE - Says that Bush is coming to Australia. Sorry, Irene, we didn't mean for you to get him, but it's hard to keep him home. Washington is such a dull place now that Larry and Alberto and all the others have quit! !
