New Year, new ramblings.

We have reached out destination in Florida, safely.

Without John and JoAnn here, who will we go to the movies with?

I suppose I will watch the Rose Bowl today, and will hope that Ohio State wins, but you know, as a Michigan fan, I have a tough time adjusting to the rotten fact that we aren't in any bowl games, and haven't been for several years.

We hear that vicious January-like subzero temperatures have struck the north. We aren't chuckling though at the north's bad luck. It's supposed to get cold here, in Florida, also. Right now, heavy rain.

Let me talk about Georgia. It rained all the way through, and for some bizarre reason, Atlanta was practically a parking lot with bumper-t0-bumper vehicles (at 7:30 p.m.) most of them being driven by non-Christians. I knew this because those people were hostile! Maybe they're still fighting the War- Between- the- States- Which- They- Lost, BTW. Let me just editorialize here: The Federal Government should either send back General Sherman, or they should build a new way to get through Georgia North-South, which would totally avoid Atlanta.

I was disappointed to hear that Rush Limbaugh is in the hospital for heart trouble. No wait! I was disappointed that they're talking about releasing him.

There is a small town near here where the python escaped from its cage during the night and strangled the baby in its crib. They arrested the mother and would have arrested her live-in boyfriend as well, but they couldn't find him. Oh, that's right, he's already in jail --- for drug charges. There's just no explaining the dimensions of stupidity. Sterilization anyone?

Does anyone have anything good to say about Atlanta?

I drove through Mississippi and Alabama on my way to/from New Orleans last week. It was my first time in both of those states (as an adult, anyway) and I was/am amazed and saddened by a lot of things I saw.
