Irene fingers fiend

This is Irene's nominee for evil man of the month.
He's Lloyd Blankfein.

Irene says he's really "Bank Fiend!" --- the arrogant, and of course very rich, Chairman of Goldman Sachs.

What has particularly angered her was his testimony last week, in which he refused to accept any blame for Wall Street misdeeds, or welcome any government regulation.

The last line put Irene over the edge:
When asked to elaborate on his statement last year that, ''we
participated in things that were clearly wrong, and we have reasons
to regret'', Mr Blankfein was not inclined to revisit this subject,
except to acknowledge his firm ''contributed to elements of froth in
the market''.

I think it's interesting that when a desparate individual robs a bank he/she gets 15 years prison time for taking a mere $5,000, but when multi- billionaires steal trillions from you and me they get off with making statements like this!! "They say" the bonuses are necessary or the big guys will go some where else. I ask where are they going to go? Who will pay them even half of what they've stolen here. They surely won't go to Europe... there are controls and fines there for that kind of behavior. We need to bring back the Sherman Antitrust and the Mc(?) & Fergeson act and take the caps off of Social Security taxation so that everybody pays not just people who earn under $100,000 a year.
