Pyotr Kuznetsov
Leader of a
Russian
'Christian' Cult
Today's Wacko award to Pyotr is actually just icing on the cake for a man who has already been declared "schizophrenic" by his psychiatrist. In fact, the cops rousted him out of the coffin he sleeps in and hauled him into the forest to let him try to reason with his followers.
His followers have locked themselves up in a cave and are awaiting the end of the world. There are 30 of them! and they have children with them. If you are barricaded in a cave with a limited amount of food and water, and many gallons of gasoline in canisters, then doomsday for you is just around the corner. They couldn't be more correct in their assumptions, I suppose. For good Christians, prophecy is even more prophetic if it's self-fulfilling.
[FOOTNOTE:
*HONORABLE MENTION: You know, they must all of them be considered runners-up in the Wacko contest.. When you have a virtual vampire sent out to reason with the deluded ones, you are on real funny-farm acreage here.]
The pressing reason why these people are doing this is because Pyotr told them it was time. Why it wasn't time for him, I don't know, because he never went in there with them. I guess he appreciates a good joke as well as the next wacko does.
Oh yeah, one other thing. They call themselves "The True Russian Orthodox Church." How they distinguish themselves from the other Russian Orthodox church, I cannot say. Can you?

Further comment: The primary difference I've noted between most Christian cults and most cults of other "isms" is that Christian cults tend to take themselves out while many other faiths threaten the rest of us.

WACKO RUNNER UP: Father Gorgy of the Orthodox Church who said, shaking his head: "They are just simple Christians."
