comment from Sparty

" ... sounds fascist to me. This is from Section 8 of the proposed bail-out legislation":

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

This one reason I have problems with the bailout. The other was no mention of an equity stake for taxpayers. The other is not addressing the lack of regulation. The other is not helping out homeowners. The other is that I cant just accept what anyone linked to this idiotic administration says - maybe things are so dire and its just a bail out for mates - one lasts grab at the public purse before the George W. Bush party ends.

Yeah, this is a little off topic, but sounds pretty fascist as well:

"Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 1

3rd Infantry’s 1st BCT trains for a new dwell-time mission. Helping ‘people at home’ may become a permanent part of the active Army"

It has been a theme of BIRCHES from the beginning that this pack of people in the Bush government are anti-democratic, wholly owned by corporate interests, given to mystical thinking, overly militaristic, inflated by a sense of self-importance, and, in short, fascistic. People should not think I mean they are Nazis. Bush is not Hitler.
