Monday Morning friends report,Mar.03, 2008

There are many things that have been missed over the past few weeks. We should have been better historians of what people are saying and thinking. But sometimes, time and memory and circumstances are just to tough to overcome. So, here's some record of all of us.

PART ONE: Comings and Goings

PAT AND BUD are home from The Villages.
SCOT AND TRASE are home from Australia and Fiji.
ALICE got back from a trip to Florida where she ran into a snag because there was a wrong date on her ticket. Those American air carriers got her for an additional fare this time. There is no such thing as correcting an error. The capitalists must be paid!
SANDY is home from California.
IRISH MIKE AND AMY will be heading for New Smyrna Beach at Easter time.
STEVE and BRENDA will be home soon from the Everglades.
SPARTY will be traveling to March Madness games.
DASHMANN AND SKUZZA have returned from a trip to the beach at Fort Meyers.

PART TWO: What people are saying

SPARTY - "On the Yahoo News homepage ... the two top stories are: 1. Bush: Economy not headed into a recession (AP) 2. Economy slows to near crawl (AP)"
Which should we believe?
"Consider the sources."

MARSHA - says she went to the dentist but missed her appointment because she forgot where his office is.

BILL FROM WNNCO - (speaking of forgetting things) - "I read all of this wonderful stuff in USA Today and by the time it is USA Yesterday it is USA Gone. Oh well, I doubt if all that knowledge will be of much help where we are going eventually."

SPARTY: Re: Oscars - Occurred to me last night that all the major acting awards were won by foreigners - An Irishman, a Spaniard, a Frenchwoman, and a Brit - and I'm not even sure the Coen brothers are from this planet.
