In this story, we learn that a teacher wants to tote her guns to class to protect herself against her wacky husband.

It doesn't seem like there could possibly be any debate over this. Of course she should be able to bring her guns unto her Shakespeare class. Her right to be safe far exceeds the interest of her pupils.

It would be a simple matter for the school to have "duck and cover" exercises each morning. Teach the kids how to protect themselves by hiding under their desks. If the kids at Columbine had been drilled in proper hiding maneuvers, there wouldn't have been the bloodshed there was.

All schools should be required to teach students how to run-and-hide, because this is a skill they will need in their later lives.
