some words that mark the day

SOME things
heard during
the Obama
in-
augur-
ation

"I just had to be here!"

"I never thought I'd live to see this day."

"This is the fulfillment of Martin Luther King's 'Dream'. "

"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met."

"We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. And all this we will do."

I'm very happy that he won. I'm very sick of every reporter asking dumb questions particularly about feelings. "How do you feel about this historic event". They ask Aretha Franklin, Harry Belafonte, etc., etc. etc. And while mentioning it they will ask a mother "how does it make you feel that your only child was killed by a lunatic?" etc, etc, etc. At the same time there are really important questions left unasked.
