Vacation report, Oct 24

Still on vacation! BIRCHES will be posting again with more regularity next week.

We are in South Carolina, a wondrous place of drawls and smiles, but I thought you readers might like to know this. While we have noted that Obama seems to be widening his leads in many many states, including the state to our immediate north, the news here in South Carolina is much different. The newspaper The State is reporting that its poll shows MCCain ahead here by about 20% points.

Perhaps, "The South shall rise again!" and in this state, the South will look pretty much like it did in the old days.
