The absolute last as a breed unless you count Flint, Michigan local columnist Andy Heller and his apostrophe mis-use crusade.
My crusty deceased father-in-law cured me of "you know " many decades ago by repeatedly ( and maybe a tad rudely ) by saying " No, I don't know " after each and every one of my usages. I still have an occasional lapse, but Mr. Kilpatrick would have been proud of him.
Can anyone think of the other writer who used to write a wonderful and humorous grammar and usage column in the Sunday newspapers a few years ago ???
