Memorial Day

Here are some things I think on this Memorial Day.

1. The Vietnam War was still, in retrospect, a terrible mistake and a disaster for our country, not because we lost it, but because we ever fought it.

2. The Iraq War was sold to me by liars, and I bought it. Now I'm ashamed of myself.

3. No soldier who went to serve our country in any war served in vain. I appreciate their service. It's the decision makers who embarrass us, not the troops.

4. Harlan Woods was an Army Ranger who served in the Pacific in World War II. He came back with malaria, unhappiness, and a story that never got fully told. I think of him.

God bless those who have fought and sometimes died for our way of life --------

And GOD DAMN those who dare to send our brave young men to their deaths for no good reason !
