I have heard a couple of friends, and a bunch of talking heads on TV as well, say that now, after 6 months in office and the passage of his stimulus packages, this is now Obama's economy. Yes, I agree.

Suggestion: Google Wendell Potter and read or watch his testimony before the Senate and his interview with Bill Moyers.
I don't think economies belong to governments and their nation states anymore. They are mainly under the control of merchant banks and big multinational corporation and billion dollar hedge funds and other groups run by greedy capitalists. I've just read an article in the July Rolling Stone about Goldman Sachs, Although the author is perhaps a bit of a nutter, it led me to conclude that we are all being screwed for the benefit of very few, and I'm not sure if anything can be done about it.
You make a great point, Irene. Also, considering all the horse-trading over any proposal in Washington, it ends being a patch-job not a program. Still, he is in charge and many of his ideas are being implemented into law, at least, and he has the "bully pulpit" so I'm willing to concede that it's his baby, now, not Bush's.
