Goodbye Teddy


He did not need equal rights, but he fought for them. He did not need educational equality, or a scholarship, or a protected right to vote, or equal employment rights, or fair tax laws, or a dozen other of the perks of American citizenship that wealthy white men daily enjoy. But he fought for them.

He did not need medical care reform.

This is how he differed from most politicians, and why he was extensively hated and yet more extensively admired.
