In other news, the high temp here in Brisbane today was a pleasant 85F. Plus, we've gone a whole week without a natural disaster.

Well, Irene, there's this. I saw on the weather report that one day this next week, there will be sunshine in Michigan, and it will get up to 40F.

I always think of Indonesia as the most luckless country. If it's not a ferry sinking with 200 aboard, it a volcano erupting, or a tsunami. I wonder if Australia is trying to challenge them for the position? Yikes!

If you seek a pleasant peninsula with sunshine, look about you. We have had several sunny days in the last week - of course, no cloud cover also brings low temps.

40F! That's very good for February. Almost G&T weather! At least it is not consistently below 0. The Queensland saying goes "Beautiful one day, perfect the next" - although not this year. I think the only thing stopping Australia from taking over the top spot from Indonesia is that we are much less populated. At one point before Brisbane flooded, the land area flooded in Queensland was equivalent to the land area of France and Germany combined. But I think only a few hundred homes were lost. It was a different story when Brisbane flooded though, but fortunately no lives were lost (unlike Brasil).

It's been 49-50 degrees the last two days nad it close to that today and beautifully sunny!! The folk singer, Bill Withers said: on your way to wonderful you have to pass through pretty good. While there take a look around it might be as far as you get.
